What St Louis Animals Will Destroy Your Garden?
Striving for a better garden?
Every garden loving individual face problems now and then caused by wild St Louis animals that are trespassing trying to find food, water and shelter. In order to remove them you need to first identify them, but that may be hard because of the nature of these animals. Some of them are nocturnal, some of them keep themselves underground, and some of them are fast and small.
Types of pests destroying your precious garden
• Missouri Raccoons – are nocturnal animals and often involve themselves in human environments. This is due to the fact of the ever increasingly food and water supplies “provided” by humans. They are also known for the love of sweet corn, but they will eat strawberries, peas, potatoes and other vegetables in your garden.
• Moles – these underground dwellers are found near gardens and lawns. Contrary to popular opinion moles do not eat plants, instead their diet consists of insects and small earthworms and beetles. They are considered a pest because of the holes and tunnels that they dig, which are providing disturbance to the lawns and seeds in the garden.
• St Louis Opossums – these large hideous animals tend to live in human environment more and more. Although fruits and vegetables from your garden are not their primary source of food, they can from time to time feast on them.
• Mice – Mice are small animals that infest gardens. Their digging and feeding activity often causes damage in your garden. And due to their size they are not so easy to repel.
Other animals
The damage in your garden can be caused by a variety of St Louis animals including but not limited to: rabbits, rats, skunks, voles, woodchucks, birds, snakes and even by large animals including bears and deer (if you leave near the woods)
Repellents
You can apply some predator urine or garlic in your garden in order to remove some of the Missouri animals, but this is not 100% effective and most of the times the animal involved will be a predator, so the best way to deal with these animals is calling for some help to the local wildlife removal.
